Visitors guide system

The project “BalticMuseums 2.0 Plus” will extend the established cooperation of the Stralsund University of Applied Sciences, the University of Szczecin and the museums. In the coming three years, the consortium will implement an electronic visitor guidance and information system, a so-called eGuide, in the participating museums.

By providing multi-media content, the eGuide makes the visit in the museum even more unforgettable experience. Special appliances and RFID-technology help to navigate in the museum and provide additional content. This content can be clustered in specialised tours, for example for parents with their kids, to provide tailor made information to each visitor. An eGuide enables the museums to offer tours in several languages, which can hardly be realised with traditional means. A special focus will be set on the joint development of content for the system. Thus, the museums profit from synergies by using the same technological basis.

In the previous project “BalticMuseums 2.0” the project consortium developed a prototype for a multi-lingual eGuide, that will now be advanced and implemented in the partner museums.

The project has a total volume of 1.120.200€. It is part-financed by the European Union within the South Baltic Cross-border Co-operation Programme with 947.920€
