The NMFRI Gdynia Aquarium does not serve guided trips since written descriptions are located next to all the exhibits. This allows visitors to view the exhibits at their own pace.

Educational programme:

We assume, just as Albert Einstein did, that science should be conducted in such a way that students consider it as a precious gift and not a burden. The Aquarium’s Marine Education Section offers a wide range of topics divided into seven types of lessons:

  • lectures,
  • laboratory classes,
  • field workshops,
  • cruises on a hydrographic cutter,
  • education through play,
  • demonstrations
  • nature movies.

We propose educational activities in the fields of:

  • marine biology,
  • chemistry,
  • environmental protection,
  • geography,
  • ecology.

Classes are adapted to age and level of young students’ knowledge. Over 30 000 students had participated in lessons held in Gdynia Aquarium in 2009.

Activities of the Aquarium’s Marine Education Section extend beyond lessons and workshops. We also organise educational events, science happenings and artistic meetings. Our task is to popularize knowledge of marine habitats.
